In 2018 I completed my MSc in Chemical Engineering at Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa, Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL). While I was still a student, I got a lot of interest in the research area, which led me to be a collaborator in the Organic Chemistry lab at ISEL (2016-2017). My growing interest in research eventually led me to the opportunity of further deepen my knowledge through my MSc dissertation titled "Fluorescent sensors for the detection of pollutants". During this stage, I acquired several personal skills such as strong sense of responsibility and critical and analytical thinking. In addition, I gained technical skills in Organic Synthesis, from the preparation and purification of compound to their characterization, namely by techniques as Infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR), UV-Vis and Steady-state Fluorescence Spectroscopy, Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), among others. Since March of 2019 I have became a research fellow at Inorganic and Organometallic Architectures, Reactivity and Catalysis (IOARC) research group, at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). I have been involved in in the synthesis and characterization of several B(III) compounds with applications as dopants in the emissive layer of Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) devices. I embarked on my Ph.D. journey in October 2021 within the same subject area, supported by a research fellowship awarded by FCT. This work has been giving me the opportunity to continuously improve the techniques I previously learned, as well as, to develop new skills such as Schlenk line techniques, Time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy and introduction to Single Crystal X-Ray Diffraction (SCXRD). I always look for opportunities that allow me to continue to develop and enhance my abilities. I consider myself an adventurous person, with easy learning and adaptation skills, always ready to embrace new challenges.
