I hold a BSc (2019) and an Msc (2022) in Conservation and Restoration from the NOVA School of Science and Technology. My master thesis was conducted within the framework of two FCT-financed projects, "Plastic Paints in Art: the impact of manufacturing processes on their long term stability" (IF/00653/2015/CP1293/CT0005) and "CleanArt - Innovative methodology to clean fungal stains from paper documents and artworks"(PTDC/EPH-PAT/0224/2014). This work allowed me to study the ageing of recent vinyl acetate-based emulsions and to experiment with innovative cleaning strategies for paintings on paper. In 2021, I became a team member for the "PlasCO2 - Green CO2 Technologies for the Cleaning of Plastics in Museums and Heritage Collections" (PTDC/ART-OUT/29692/2017) project, where I worked as a research scholar. In 2022 I became a team-member at a private art conservation company where I had the opportunity to coordinate the conservation of polychrome sculptures and altarpieces. I'm currently studying the materials and techniques of Modern Age Sculpture from Azores as part of my on-going PhD project.
