Carlos Manuel Nunes Farinha

Carlos Farinha is a dedicated professional, with academic training and experience in the field of Sports, especially in the areas of Gerontomotricity and Physical Exercise in Aquatic Environments. In 2022, he completed his PhD in Sports Sciences – Physical Activity and Health at the Faculty of Sports Sciences and Physical Education of the University of Coimbra, deepening the study of the impact of Physical Exercise in an Aquatic Environment on the Elderly Population. Previously (2016), he completed a Master's degree in Physical Activity with a specialization in Gerontomotricity, and a Degree in Sports and Physical Activity – Minor Children and Elderly (2013), both at the Higher School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Higher School of Education at the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco. Previously, he served as Senior Sports Technician at Sertã Municipal Council, where he was Technical Director of the Municipal Swimming Pool, having specialized in the implementation and supervision of Physical Exercise programs in Aquatic Environments for different age groups, with a special focus on the Elderly Population . Throughout his career, he has developed extensive work in the area of ¿¿Sports Sciences, teaching classes in various aquatic and terrestrial environments, such as water aerobics, swimming, physical exercise for the elderly, gym classes, among others. His professional experience also includes the organization of Sports Events and a position as Director of a Regional Association (CCD Sertã), where he promotes sports development. At the Academic level, Carlos Farinha has invested in Scientific Research in the areas of Physical Exercise in the Aquatic Environment and Gerontomotricity, having participated in several research projects and published several articles in international journals with an impact factor. His ability to reconcile his academic career with his professional life is remarkable, maintaining an active career while deepening his academic knowledge, which demonstrates his great capacity for organization and time management, being an asset to any institution that values ¿¿these areas.
