Ana obtained her BSc in Chemistry (2017-2020) from Faculdade de Ciências, Universidade de Lisboa with a final grade of 15/20. Besides a solid background in Organic and Inorganic Chemistry, she also developed her synthetic skills and characterisation techniques, (ex: NMR, FTIR, UV-vis, and SQUID). She presented her work at 7PYCHEM (poster communication) and other scientific meetings and colloquium. Ana completed her MSc in Bioorganic Chemistry (2020-2022) from FCT NOVA with a final grade of 19/20. In 2022, she published a paper entitled "Saracatinib, em Busca da Cura Definitiva da Doença de Alzheimer" in Boletim da Sociedade Portuguesa de Química. Her MSc thesis focused on preparing heterocyclic ligands for the cathodic deposition of metal-organic framework (MOF) films applied to purine sensing. Ana developed her synthetic experience and new characterisation techniques (ex: CV, SEM, XRD, AFM, XPS, PIXE, and RBS). She presented her work at the SILQCOM8 (poster communication), CQE Days 2022 (poster communication), 2nd Chem & Biochem Students Meeting (poster+flash communications), and EuChemS (poster communication), where she was also part of the organising committee. Before submitting her thesis, Ana worked as a Monitor at FCT NOVA, teaching the laboratory classes of Química B and Mecanismos de Reações Químicas e Biológicas. She is currently enrolled in a research fellowship at FCT-NOVA under the supervision of Prof Dr Maria Manuel B. Marques, within the scope of the project "1Pot2Cat: one-pot bimetallic catalysed synthesis of challenging heterocycles" (reference "PTDC/QUI-QOR/0712/2020") until December of 2023. Recently, she published a review in Catalysts, entitled "Bimetallic (or Multimetallic) Synthesis of N-Heterocycles" (doi: https://doi.org/10.3390/catal13091268) In the future, she aims to pursue her studies as a PhD student to specialise in the field of the synthesis of heterocycles via catalytic routes.
