I have a BSc in Biotechnology (2019) from IPS (Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal) and a MSc in Biochemistry (2022) from NOVA School of Science and Technology, NOVA University Lisbon, both finished with a final grade of 18/20. My BSc final semester research project "Metal substitutions of rubredoxin metal cluster, stability studies and structural implications" was performed at LAQV - Associated Laboratory for Green Chemistry. My MSc thesis "Biochemical characterization of the inner membrane cytochrome CbcL: a gate for extracellular electron transfer in Geobacter sulfurreducens" was developed at UCIBIO - Applied Molecular Biosciences Research Unit. From June 2021 to August 2022, I was a Research fellow at the Biochemistry and Bioenergetics of Heme Proteins Research Laboratory - UCIBIO and team member of the FCT project "Look out over the wall: rational powering of microbial nanowires for sustainable bioenergy-based applications" (PTDC/BIA-BQM/31981/2017). Currently, I am PhD student in Biotechnology at NOVA School of Science and Technology. My PhD thesis plan focuses on the study of protein complexes from the inner membrane of Geobacter sulfurreducens, using several biophysical techniques, including Circular Dichroism and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy. As part of a collaboration, I´m also a visiting scientist in the XTAL Macromolecular Crystallography (UCIBIO), where I am performing crystallography experiments of heme proteins. I have a total of six oral presentations (five as presenting author, one awarded with the Best Oral Communication prize) and one poster communication at national and international conferences. I am also the first author of a manuscript published in an international peer reviewed journal. In 2018 and 2019, as a recognition of my academic accomplishments, I was awarded with three Merit Grants (two from the Portuguese National Directory of Higher Education and one from Santander Totta).
