Felismina is a proven expert in the field of biosensors. She specializes in the development of electrical biosensors that
use novel materials, particularly synthetic materials, to detect a variety of target analytes. Earned her PhD in sustainable
chemistry from the Faculty of Science of the University of Lisbon and her academic contributions are reflected in the 28 h-index
and publication of 86 articles in international journals (orcid: 0000-0003-4237-8952). She is also co-author of three submitted
patents in the field of biosensors and has supervised several master's and PhD students. Felismina is the founder and coordinator
of the research group LabRISE- Laboratory for Research and Innovation in Sensors and Engineering, and board member of the
Center for Innovation in Engineering and Industrial Technology (CIETI) located at the School of Engineering of the Polytechnic
Institute of Porto (ISEP). In this role, she leads a team of researchers dedicated to advancing the field of biosensors, driving
innovation, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Previously, she coordinated the BioMark Sensor Research unit at
ISEP from January 2020 to July 2023. Her contributions to the field of biosensors combined with her academic and professional
accomplishments make her an asset to the scientific community. Her expertise and leadership are critical to the ongoing development
of cutting-edge technologies for biosensor applications.
