Carlos Granadeiro completed a PhD degree in Chemistry by the University of Aveiro in 2010 dealing with the development of novel photoluminescent hybrid materials. In 2011, Granadeiro was awarded with a Post-Doctoral grant by the FCT to work in the grafting of polyoxometalates on carbon nanostructures at the Associate Laboratory CICECO (Center for Research in Ceramics & Composite Materials). Afterwards, Granadeiro worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Laboratório Associado para a Química Verde at REQUIMTE (LAQV@REQUIMTE) followed by a Research contract (DL 57/2016 program contract) from November 2018 to February 2023. Granadeiro is currently an Assistant Researcher (2022.02651.CEECIND: 5th edition of FCT Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus) at LAQV@REQUIMTE developing novel functional magnetic porous (nano)materials for application in several areas, including sustainable water remediation technologies. He has also been involved in the design and tailoring of porous materials with enhanced physico-chemical properties for application in optical sensing and heterogeneous catalysis. Granadeiro is the author of 57 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, 2 book chapters and 2 conference proceedings with an h-index of 28 and 2835 citations. Granadeiro has presented 32 oral communications and 46 poster presentations in international and national conferences. Granadeiro has been awarded with the Best Paper Award Nano 2012 for an oral communication and has won three Best Poster Presentation Awards. In 2018, Granadeiro was distinguished with the prestigious Ramôa Ribeiro Award by the Portuguese Chemical Society for his scientific achievements and excellency in the fields of Catalysis and Porous Materials (https://www.spq.pt/premios/ramoa-ribeiro/lista). Granadeiro has been involved in several FCT-funded research projects and has participated in international research stays at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble, France. Granadeiro is also involved in teaching activities in BSc. and MSc. courses at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. Granadeiro actively participates in scientific outreach activities and has an on-going internship student protocol with the Secondary School of Maia, with whom has recently received an Honorable Mention for the Nano4Green project. Granadeiro is currently a Guest Associate Editor of Frontiers in Chemistry (https://loop.frontiersin.org/people/687945/overview), Guest Editor of Catalysts (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/catalysts/special_issues/SOX_catalysts), Guest Editor of Molecules (https://www.mdpi.com/si/92585, https://www.mdpi.com/si/88277) and also regularly contributes as peer-reviewer for some high-quality scientific journals in the fields of Inorganic Chemistry, Materials Engineering and Catalysis.
