I am currently a researcher at University of Aveiro, at CESAM & Department of Biology. I graduated at the university of Lisbon, in Biology (2007) and completed my Msc at the university of Lisbon in Conservation biology in 2010. After the Msc, I was awarded a Leonardo Da Vinci grant and went for an internship in Cardiff University for a period of 6 months to enroll in the project "Metal induced changes in DNA methylation in the soil sentinel Lumbricus rubellus: A model for exploring environmental epigenetics" After that, I moved to University of Aveiro to start a research grant under the project ClimaTox: Impact of Climatic Changes in the Toxicity of Pollutants" where I worked with zebrafish as model species in ecotoxicology to understand how several climate change related factors modulate the toxicity of different pollutants. Later, I was awarded a grant within the BIODIV doctoral program to pursue my PhD studies. In my thesis, I used a quantitative genetics approach to unravel the drivers of intraspecific variation in several trait in wolf-spides. This was a joint project between the center for ecology, evolution and environmental changes and the Estación Experimental de Zonas Áridas (EEZA). After the PhD, I undertook a temporary position as a graduate program manager in the Champalimaud Center for the Unknown within the Neurosciences program. I am now a researcher working within the project rWILD-COA working on the impacts of ungulates on soil communities which include invertebrates, small mammals, microbiota and plants. Currently, my research interests lie within the fields of evolutionary and community ecology as I explore the drivers of intraspecific variation, species interactions and ecosystem functions and how these are interconnected within space and time.
