I am an applied economist with strong expertise in behavioural and experimental economics. I am an assistant research professor at NIPE - Centre for Research in Economics and Management¿ - University of Minho. I was awarded a PhD in Economics, Management and Organisations in November 2014 at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain. I concluded a Master of Science in Business Economics at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2008 and a Bachelor and Master (Licenciatura) in Management and Accounting, with specialisation in Management and Financial Control at Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa - Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração de Lisboa in 2003. After PhD graduation, I started a 3-years post-doctoral position at the University of Southampton, where I worked on privacy policies research, as part of an interdisciplinary project about Meaningful Consent in the Digital Economy ¿ MCDE, an EPSRC-funded project that examined issues related to giving and obtaining user consent online, with industry and academic partners from across the world. In 2017 I started to work as a research fellow at Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Católica Porto Business School and CEGE (Center for Economics and Management Studies). I worked in a project about Illicit Drug Policies and Social Outcome' (IDPSO), which is a cross-country analysis that studies the societal impact of policy. It aims to measure the impact that different drug-related legal frameworks have on society show policymakers the potential impact of the choices they make (with a special focus on cannabis). Presently I am a research assistant professor at Universidade of Minho - EEG - NIPE, where I teach and research in behavioural economics. I was a lecturer at Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Católica Porto Business School where I taught a course in behavior, economics and organizations for the master in Management. I was the leader of the MCDE Project for impact, outreach, public engagement and awareness activities. It included organizing conferences and workshops; meetings with Facebook and Google representatives, UK cabinets office and press releases; Privacy awareness activities in high schools and at universities in the UK; Participation in several scientific projects. I was also the manager of the Social Sciences Experimental Laboratory, which contributed to my expertise in designing and conducting the experiments proposed: lab, field, online surveys and choice experiments. I have an excellent publication track record. In the last 5 years I published 3 articles in ABS 3 journals and 1 peer-reviewed paper; 3 peer-reviewed conference proceedings papers and 4 working papers, which have a total of 70 citations. I was lead author in 3, sole author in 3 and co- author in 5. These papers made advancements to the academic literature on several areas of behavioral and experimental economics with policy relevance, such as Privacy (4); Voting (3) and Identity in teams (3). I interacted with 15 co-authorship of scientific papers. My research has been focused in policy relevant areas, such as health, privacy, political economics and organizations. My research interests are in different topics such as Healthcare; Illicit Drugs; Economics of Identity; Economics of Privacy; Voting and Nudges. As a research methodology I combine theoretical analysis with experimental evidence to analyze individual and group decision-making. I use laboratory, online and field experiments as empirical tools.
