This communication set out to reflect critically on societal constructions in contemporary times based on social hierarchies that define the areas of “being” and “not being” and which are configured on the basis of the accumulation of structured capital in the dehumanized workforce. It relied on the interdisciplinary dialogical perspective as a source of analytical expansion, believing in contamination at its borders to build new models and hypotheses. Based on the ethnographic research developed at the doctorate, the author reflected on the externalization of devotion at the religious party. Transiting between the sacred and the profane, it presents popular catholicism, marked by the precariousness of evangelization and devotional and protective hypertrophy, as colonial religiosity not in a passive way, merely receptive and reproductive of the European model. 2017/11/03 "Women: a history of resistance in Minas Gerais". The communication addressed the historical invisibility of real women under the stereotype of patriarchal construction, configuring themselves as modes of subalternation and of extinguishing the voice. Supported by sources and historiography about the colonial period, it reflected on the participation, in no way passive, of free women, slaves or women in the organization of mining society and the resistance strategies used to live, achieve freedom and, eventually, economic growth.
