I, Igor Reva, graduated in Biophysics, with honors, from the Kharkiv National University. Upon graduation, worked at the Institute for Low Temperature Physics & Engineering, a major research centre of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (in Kharkiv), where in 1995 completed PhD degree in Thermophysics & Molecular Physics / Molecular Biophysics. In July 1997 - September 1999, I was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Germany) at Max-Planck-Institute for Radiation Chemistry (Muelheim/Ruhr) and at Max-Planck-Institute for Nuclear Physics (Heidelberg). In October 1999, I joined the Coimbra Chemistry Centre (CQC), hosted at the Department of Chemistry, University of Coimbra (UC). From that date, and until 2020, I worked at CQC / UC, initially as NATO research fellow, then FCT post-doctoral fellow, then Researcher of the programmes "Science-2007" and "Investigador FCT" (Principal Researcher). In 2021, I joined the Chemical Process Engineering and Forest Products Research Centre (CIEPQPF), hosted at the Department of Chemical Engineering (DEQ) of UC. Since 2024, this Research Centre (hosted at DEQ/UC) has a new name: Chemical Engineering and Renewable Resources for Sustainability (CERES). In 2021 I was elected, and in 2023 re-elected, a member of the Scientific Committee of the Department of Chemical Engineering. In 2006, I obtained Equivalence of PhD degree at the University of Coimbra in Chemistry (Molecular Spectroscopy). In 2010, the degree of Habilitation in Chemistry was conferred on me by the University of Coimbra. In 2010-2021, I actively collaborated with Coimbra Laser Lab, a Research Infrastructure of FCT established at UC, and belonging to LaserLab Europe - Consortium of European Laser Research Infrastructures. As a senior LaserLab researcher, I provided scientific coordination and technical training for several dozens of users and imparted my experience during their access to state-of-the-art shared research facilities. Overall, I supervised +35 people (PhD and Master's theses, LaserLab and research projects). My research network includes several active international partnerships (seven EU countries, plus Israel, Turkey, USA, Argentina, Brazil, India, and Australia). In collaboration we exchange students and produce excellent research that is then published in leading international journals. As of April 2024, published 170 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, and in +50 of these I am the corresponding author. H-index: 41 (Publons) / 42 (Scopus), with +4.9 K citations. In my professional activities, interacted with +100 collaborators as co-authors of scientific papers, and participated in +30 competitively funded (total budget +1.5 MEuro) FCT projects (in 8 as principal investigator). Currently I am a member of Editorial boards of: "Frontiers" (section Physical Chemistry and Chemical Physics), "Molecules" (MDPI), and "Biophysical Bulletin" (KhNU), as well as a member of the International Steering Committees of CPLT (Chemistry and Physics at Low Temperatures) and TURCMOS (International Turkish Congress on Molecular Spectroscopy) both of which organize a biennial CPLT or TURCMOS conference, respectively. I have been serving as a regular peer reviewer for +25 journals belonging to the American Chemical Society, the American Institute of Physics, the Royal Society of Chemistry, MDPI, Elsevier, Springer, and Wiley.
