Pedro Patrício has a first degree in Physics at the Instituto Superior Técnico, a master's degree in Physics (Diplôme d'études approfondies Champs, Particules et Matière) in Orsay and a PhD in Physics from the University of Paris 7, entitled Geometric Instabilities in Elasticity, at the Laboratoire de Physique Statistique of the École Normale Supérieure in Paris. He is a Professor (Professor coordenador) in the Physics Department at the Engineering Institute of Lisbon, teaching basic physics courses for engineering (mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism), and computational applied physics (computacional fluid mechanics, heat transfer and statistical physics). He is a theoretical soft matter physicist. His research interests include elasticity, fluids, complex fluids, biophysics, and statistical physics. He is a member of the Center for Theoretical and Computational Physics at the University of Lisbon.
