My CV demonstrates a consolidated research position in medieval studies with a strong international projection and leadership capacity, built upon a successful record of grants and projects, a track of contracts and stays in leading research centres worldwide, a sustained effort in the organisation of research events as well as outreach and dissemination activities. My Research focuses on the studies of religious minorities taking into account both, written sources and archeological records. I completed my PhD in December 2011 at UCM, "Territory and material culture in Soria area, From the Middle March to Duero Extremadura ( 8th-12tn centuries). I focused on the impact of the Islamic conquest on a sparsely populated area that allows us to analyse the superimposition of Emirate and Caliphate rule on residual rural settlements, from writen Latin and Arabic sources and archeological data. Since then, I have carried out this research line through three different strategies: 1. More recently I expanded the chronological scope of inquiry to analyse the impact of the Christian conquest in both, society and urban structre, particulary dealing with the materiality of Law. This perspective was adopted in my postdoctoral contract in the John Tolan' ERC, RELMIN, developed at the Maison de Science de l'Homme Angue Guèpin and the University of Nantes (2021-2015), concerning the Muslims and Jewish legal status from law and social practice. 2. In my second postdoctoral experience with the POCRAM team at Paris Est-Créteil, I analyzed the impact of the imposition of Christianity on other faiths at the end of the 15th century. It was, in a way, another expression of conquest, perhaps more subtle. During this period, I also worked on problems derived from forced conversion and trained in the discipline of digital humanities. 3. General analysis of the conquest processes of both Islamic and Christian religions on places of worship developed in the last five years as Research Senior Fellow at University Complutense de Madrid, and head of the project EVA ( Virtual Spaces of Alterity, CAM, 2017, T1/HUM-5650) and DOGmA (2022-2023) . In these five years I've conducted a thorough comparative study based on the political and the social role of worship places in Medieval Iberia, cutting across political boundaries between the different Medieval Kingdoms in order to reshape a common past in medieval Spain. I've taught subjects related to Cultural studies and Medieval History for Archeology, History, and Art History Degrees, and also I taught in different Master Degree Programs at UCM . I have also successfully obtained ANECA accreditations for Permanent Position and the I3 research quality accreditation (2022), I have taught subjects related with Culture Studies and Medieval History. I have co-directed the program, Let my People Go! at UCM and contributed actively as researcher in six national and international research projects, as well as in multi-disciplinary research groups at my host institutions, which together with short stays at different research centres attests to the international dimension of my career and the interdisciplinary character of my research.
