Maria José Lima completed her Ph.D. Chemical and Biological Engineering in 2019/02/06 by the University of Porto, Faculty of Engineering. She has experience in different research areas including chemical, materials, and environmental engineering acquired during the last years. After concluding her Ph.D., she moved to the Center of Physics of the University of Minho to work on the ON-SURF project aiming the surface modification and functionalization for application in the industrial sector. She is also involved in the DiabetICC project aiming at the development of footwear for diabetic feet. Both projects involve national companies from different sectors of activity and non-corporate entities from I&D. Recently, she raised funding (2021.00675.CEECIND) to evolve the CO2 electrocatalytic reduction by copper oxide/TMD thin films enabling her future research career by combining the knowledge of her Ph.D. and Post Doc. Maria José Lima has published 22 papers in international journals, 12 of them as the first author, achieving over 615 citations, and holds an h-index of 11 (Scopus, October 2022). She was invited to review grant proposals from the National Science Center, Poland, and GWIS National Fellowship Program. She is co-author of a book chapter, participated in 2 training courses, and assisted laboratory activities of several visiting students during her Ph.D. She was co/supervisor of 3 graduated students, 1 research fellow, and 1 master's student, from the Materials Engineering and Physics master's degree. Maria José Lima was awarded with the "Prémio Fundação Eng. António de Almeida 2019" for the PhD thesis titled "Selective photocatalytic conversions integrated on a continuous-flow microfluidic process". Recently was distinguished with the PSE early career award 2022.
