Luís Paupério, 1987. I am a Doctoral Candidate in Art Education, University of Porto and University of Lisbon, having submitted the Doctoral Thesis for public examination in January, 2026. I mainly focus on the making of art education theory, that is, I look into how theoretical practices in art education are conducted and the effects of such conducting, layering different areas of inquiry such as literature, poetics, philosophy of education, critical theory, and critical history. I was a visiting researcher at Aalto University School of Arts, Design & Architecture, Department of Art and Media (2023–2025), working under my PhD supervisor, Prof. Juuso Tervo, PhD. During such period, my project was financed by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) by a PhD scholarship (FCT reference 2023.01167.BD). I hold a Master in Architecture (Escola Superior Artística do Porto, 2011), being a founding partner of escritóriopequeno: arquitectura (2017). Currently, I am affiliated to the Nordic Educational Research Association (NERA, since 2024), and the Finnish Educational Research Association (FERA, since 2024). I have participated in several international conferences and workshops, such as: the Nordic Educational Research Association Conference; the European Conference on Educational Research; the Finnish Educational Research Association Conference; the NW29 Winter School; the Encounter on Practices of Research in Art Education; and the International Encounter on Art Education. I enjoy music, drawing, cooking and sharing meals, amidst other things.
