Edgar J. Castanheira is a PhD student in COMPASS - CICECO in the University of Aveiro. I have a Bachelor's in Applied Chemistry and a Master's in Bioorganic Chemistry (FCT-UNL). In my Master thesis (IST-UL), my research was focused on synthesis of smart glyco polymers and mesoporous silica nanoparticles to obtain smart hybrid glyconanoparticles for therapy and diagnose. Currently, my work is based on the chemical modification and conjugation of natural-origin polymers with bioactive molecules in order to develop hydrogels for tissue engineering.
