I am an assistant researcher in science and environmental communication at the Marine and Environmental Sciences Center (MARE, University of Lisbon, Faculty of Sciences) and a member of the Associate Laboratory Aquatic Research Network (ARNET). I also collaborate in the communication activities of MARE- University of Lisbon. I am particularly interested in the communication of environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity and sustainability. I have lectured in ecology and science communication, and have co-supervised 6 Msc thesis (University of Lisbon, Faculty of Sciences). Before that, I have completed a PhD in environmental engineering in 2008 and have been working in science communication since then. I have worked at the National Museum of Natural History and Science (Lisbon), Science Centre of Sintra (Ciência Viva) and the research center Ce3c (University of Lisbon). I have co-authored 24 scientific papers, 6 comic publications on science communication, 1 field guide about the Portuguese biodiversity, 1 book on science communication using humour and 1 TV documentary (RTP1). I am currently working on a new science comic book and a new TV documentary.
