Laura da Conceição Mendes de Brito

Laura Brito holds a PhD in Applied Psychology and a Master’s in Health Psychology from the University of Minho. A Specialist in Clinical and Health Psychology and Advanced Specialist in Neuropsychology (OPP), she has over 20 years of experience in clinical, community and research intervention in neuropsychology, dementia, frailty, ageing, bereavement, and caregiver support. She coordinated the IADem Plan – Research-Action on Dementia and Frailty (2017–2025) and the CRIADem – Reference Centre for Dementia and Frailty, multi-partner initiatives focused on prevention, early diagnosis, and integrated, person-centred care. The IADem Plan received the Mais Valor em Saúde Award and was recognised by WHO and ACSS as an example of good practice in humanised and integrated care. She collaborated in projects such as Alto Minho + Inclusivo and the ULSAM Dementia Consultation and developed training programmes for caregivers and healthcare professionals. She is a lecturer in the Postgraduate Alliance – Skills for the Future (University of Minho) and a member of the Health & Family Research Group at CIPsi. Author of several publications, book chapters, and communications, her research interests include dementia and frailty, integrated healthcare, stress management in vulnerable groups, ageing, interprofessional education, bereavement and family, and the psychosocial impact of chronic diseases.
