Bárbara Carreira (BC) is an early-career researcher at BioNanoSciences group at iMed.ULisboa (Faculty of Pharmacy - University of Lisbon - (FFUL)). In 2023, BC concluded her PhD in pharmaceutical nanotechnology at FFUL. Her PhD project focused on the development of a cancer nanovaccine to selectively co-target TLR and PD-L1 function to improve antigen presentation and subsequent effector immune function within the brain microenvironment against melanoma brain metastases. In 2024, BC was awarded with a Post-Doctoral position in the “la Caixa”-funded consortium, MultiNano@BBM (LCF/PR/ HR22-00702, 1M€) to develop personalized nano-immunotherapy against BrM.
