João Martim dos Reis is currently a Master's student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Aveiro, where his thesis is focused on the design and instrumentation of Micro-CT systems, an imaging modality that provides high-resolution three-dimensional anatomical information enabling detailed visualization of internal structures at a microscopic scale, of great value in both preclinical research and non-destructible materials. Its non-invasive nature, combined with its ability to deliver precise morphological data, makes it a powerful tool in the study of disease models, biomaterials, and complex biological structures. This work is carried out within the HadronPET.3D project, where he contributes to the development of a high-performance portable PET system for hadronic therapy. In support of this project, he was awarded a research fellowship (BI) at the University of Aveiro. Beyond his academic and research path, João has demonstrated an active engagement with the scientific and student community. He was one of the organizers of the National Biomedical Engineering Meeting, contributing to the promotion of scientific exchange among students and researchers in the field. Additionally, he served as Coordinator of the Powertrain Department of Formula Student Aveiro, where he developed strong competencies in project management, engineering design, and interdisciplinary teamwork within a competitive international context.

2025/03/01 - 2026/04/02 The National Meeting of Biomedical Engineering Students (ENEEB) is a four-day annual non-profit event organized by biomedical engineering students for peers across the country. It includes workshops, lectures, company visits, debates, networking, and social activities. ENEEB promotes knowledge sharing, career preparation, academic and personal development and stronger connections between academia and industry. Each edition is organized by students from the host university with guidance from the National Association of Biomedical Engineering Students (2026/03/05 - 2026/03/08)
