Vítor Filipe Alves Morais has received his MSc. and Ph.D. degrees from University of Porto, Faculty of Engineering in 2015 and 2021, respectively. He is currently working as a senior development engineer in Nomad Tech, a joint-venture company between Portuguese Railways and Nomad Digital. His research activities are in the railway power systems and train power electronics, with focus on power management of STATCOM units to improve the energy efficiency, train traction control units and auxiliary power converters.
