I am a recent MSc Climate Physics graduate, now working as a grant researcher at Instituto Dom Luiz (IDL), the integrated Earth System Science institute associated to the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. I completed my BSc in Mathematics at the University of Glasgow, UK, in 2021 and my MSc in Climate Physics at Utrecht University, Netherlands, in 2023. My main research interest focuses on tropical atmospheric circulation, having completed my master's thesis and published one peer-reviewed article on the topic. Furthermore, my work also extends to the broader climate system as I currently integrate the European project Land Surface Analysis Satellite Application Facility (LSA SAF), part of EUMETSAT Ground Segment, as a grant researcher. My role is to operationally implement a neural network algorithm for dating and mapping burned areas. I have strived to make use of my solid foundations in applied mathematics, in particular numerical methods, inverse modelling and continuum and solid mechanics, throughout my research into the complexity of the climate system. During my academic career I have also developed my organizational and programming skills in handling and analysing large amounts of data. I have integrated a multiplicity of academic institutions from all around the world and I have been/will be a speaker at two international conferences.
