Pablo Calvín

Pablo Calvín studied geology at the Zaragoza University and completed his Master in the same university in 2011. During his PhD (Burgos University), he successfully applied in the Moroccan High Atlas the study of a widespread remagnetization to resolve geological problems; the PhD was endorsed by six JCR papers as first author (including a paper in Geology-GSA). Besides, during the developing of his PhD, he also taught the module ‘Física I’ in the degrees ‘Ingeniería Mecánica’ and ‘Ingeniería Electrónica Industrial y Automática’ at the Burgos University. During the postdoctoral period (from November 2019) he works as a laboratory technician at the Paleomagnetic Laboratory of the University of Burgos. Besides, during this time, PC was Principal Investigator in two highly competitive international project calls (TNA-EPOS [H2020] and NSF-USA) doing innovative magnetic experiments at two forefront paleomagnetic laboratories (IRM, Minneapolis [USA] and U. Utrecht [The Netherlands]). On the other hand, PC has presented several science outreach contributions; including the publication of two field books and the organization of three ‘Geolodía’ events, and he is teaching at the ‘Universidad the la Experiencia’ program. Finally, PC was organizer in several research activities of the Sociedad Geológica de España through the tectonic and paleomagnetic commissions, co-organizing one of the annual field trips of the Tectonic Commission and as main organizer of the bi-annual meeting of the Paleomagnetic Commission.
