Rita Ramos Miguel is currently developing her PhD in Forensic Psychology, entitled Self-care for adolescents in residential care: A cluster randomized trial assessing the impact of a compassionate mind training intervention (funded by Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (2020.05840.BD)). Rita has a master degree in clinical psychology from University of Coimbra - Portugal (2011) and a master degree in social and organizational psychology from ISCTE - Lisbon University Institute, Portugal (2016). Rita is research assistant, since 2016, in the Center for Research in Neuropsychology and Cognitive and Behavioral Intervention (CINEICC) at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra - Portugal. Previously she integrated two R&D projects aiming the implementation of clinical trials testing the efficacy of compassionate focused interventions with antisocial and social anxiety disordered adolescents, respectively. Her current research interests include: emotion regulation difficulties as a transdiagnostic maintenance mechanism; long-term consequences of early traumatic experiences (neglect and abuse); adolescents' (mal)adaptive (internalizing and externalizing) trajectories; residential youth care system; clinical trials.
