Tânia Silva is a researcher at the Center for Translational Health and Medical Biotechnology Research (TBIO), which is part of the Health Research Network (RISE – Health), as well as at Centro ALGORITMI. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and a Master's degree in Hygiene and Safety in Organizations from the Porto School of Health. Renowned for her dedication and professionalism, she is driven by a deep passion for fostering healthier and safer environments. Her academic journey has provided her with extensive knowledge and skills, enabling her to make meaningful contributions to the well-being of individuals and organizations alike. Underlining her dedication to advancing the field, Tânia's master's thesis, titled “Towards human-centered design of supermarket checkout counters,” is a testament to her commitment. This expertise positions her as a valuable asset in the design and implementation of effective health and safety strategies. Tânia's active collaboration with researchers is evident in her role as a first author on a published paper and another forthcoming paper in Ergonomics and Anthropometrics and Wellbeing, respectively. These articles underscore her dedication to providing valuable insights and expertise in these specialized fields. In recognition of her academic excellence, Tânia won the Master’s Student of the Year Award. She also presented a poster titled 'Nutritional Status of Portuguese Retail Workers' at the TBIO Annual Meeting 2024, as well as a book chapter on burnout in bus drivers at SHO2025, further demonstrating her active engagement and contribution to the academic community. Additionally, she contributed to the task force at major scientific events, including the TBIO Annual Meeting 2024 and SHO2025, helping to foster collaboration between researchers and industry professionals. Tânia is currently pursuing a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the School of Engineering of the University of Minho. Moreover, she is the first author of another paper that explores work-related musculoskeletal disorders and psychosocial risks among bus drivers. Her work exemplifies her dynamic professionalism and significant impact on occupational health and safety.
