Diogo completed his Integrated Master’s in Environmental Engineering in 2021 at the University of Aveiro and his Bachelor’s in Environmental Sciences and Technology in 2017 at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. He is currently a student in the Environmental Sciences and Engineering PhD program at the University of Aveiro. Additionally, Diogo serves as a student researcher at the Center for Environmental and Sea Studies (CESAM) and is a researcher at the Group of Emissions, Modelling, and Climate Change (GEMAC) within the Department of Environment and Planning. In this role, he manages, maintains, and operates the Atmosphere Aerodynamics Laboratory and its equipment, including the wind tunnel. Diogo also oversees the OpenFOAM Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) development line. His research contributions include two articles in scientific journals, with one already accepted for publication and another submitted. As the internal coordinator of the Optwire project, he is responsible for managing meetings, facilitating data sharing between project institutions, and conducting necessary CFD simulations. Recently, Diogo participated in the technical development of three submitted projects—one international and two national—focusing on sustainable and resilient cities in the context of climate change. His primary research interests lie in modelling atmospheric and climate processes at an urban scale, CFD modelling, and advancing sustainable practices for resilient cities
