I completed my Bachelor's degree (2022) and Master's degree (2024) in Chemical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon. Over these five years, I acquired a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and chemistry, essential for understanding the principles of chemical engineering. During this time, I developed various technical skills, particularly in the design, analysis, and optimization of chemical reactions and industrial processes, with a focus on efficiency and sustainability. Additionally, I learned to manage industrial operations, ensuring quality and production optimization, as well as to monitor and control complex systems for safe and efficient operation. The rigorous academic environment at Técnico also allowed me to develop other important skills, including the ability to manage and meet strict deadlines while maintaining high standards of excellence, as well as critical thinking and autonomy in learning and solving complex problems. In November 2024, I defended my Master's thesis, "Lignin-Based Copolymers by Free Radical Polymerization for Sustainable Carbon Fibers." My research contributed to the BioCFiber project, funded by FCT (Foundation for Science and Technology), which seeks to replace conventional carbon fiber precursors with renewable, biomass-derived materials. Through this work, I deepened my knowledge of lignin, from its structure and chemistry to depolymerization processes and its application in the synthesis of sustainable polymers. Additionally, I gained experience in various characterization techniques, including ATR-FTIR, TGA, DSC, GPC-IR/UV, NMR (¹H and ³¹P), and SEM. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the same institution. Furthermore, since November 2024, I have been a Invited Assistant at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, a role that has allowed me to strengthen my expertise in the field, develop communication and teaching skills, and enhance my ability to plan and structure content effectively.
