Andreia Filipa Marreiros Amaro got her BSc degree in Medical Chemistry in 2019 at the University of Coimbra (UC) and her Msc degree in Biochemistry in 2022 also at UC. Currently, she is a Ph.D. student in Health Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine of the UC focusing her research on depicting the intricate relation between neurodevelopmental disorders and energy balance pathways in the offspring of diabetic mothers. Andreia's research on developmental programming has been addressing the impact of early-life insults on offspring metabolism and behaviour. She has published 10 research articles (3 as first author and 7 as co-author). Andreia has an active participation in National and International meetings being author and co-author of several oral communications and posters. In 2023, Andreia won the best poster communication award at the European Society of Clinical Investigation in the Czech Republic. Andreia also participated in activities to promote science communication and dissemination, namely European Researcher's Night and Escola Ciência Vida at the Exploratorium of Coimbra.
