Irene Cadime completed her PhD in Psychology with a specialization in Educational Psychology in 2012 at the University of Minho, Portugal. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Psychology, University of Minho. She has an extensive international research profile with 80+ peer-reviewed publications in journals indexed in major international databases, 16 book chapters, and 11 books. Her work has contributed significantly to advancing knowledge on reading, language development, and psychological assessment, with widely cited studies on reading interventions and literacy that inform educational practices. She has participated as a researcher in competitive funded research projects, including collaborations that span multi-country teams and address global challenges in education and child development. Her leadership in supervising Master’s and PhD students has fostered a new generation of researchers with strong international and interdisciplinary reach. She serves as an Associate Editor for three international journals indexed in the Journal Citation Reports and is an active reviewer for numerous other international publications. She has contributed to the scientific community through conference organization and has received four awards recognizing excellence and innovation in reading assessment and literacy promotion. Her research portfolio encompasses Psychological Assessment, Psychometrics, Reading Disabilities, Language Development, Reading and Writing, Web-Based Interventions, and Executive Functioning — areas with clear relevance to educational equity, inclusive learning, and evidence-based practice across cultural and linguistic contexts. Her work demonstrates both societal impact, by improving understanding and support for children’s literacy and learning, and global engagement, through international collaborations, publications, and contributions to knowledge that transcend national boundaries.
