Ana Laura Dias earned her Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the NOVA School of Science and Technology in 2019 and completed her Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto, in 2021. She has engaged in research as part of the FCT project "Sustainable antifouling agents: from grape wastes to the sea with green chemistry leading the way" (PTDC/CTA-AMB/0853/2021), for which she received a research fellowship in 2022 (2022-002-BI-M_CTA-AMB). Currently, Ana Laura is a PhD student at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon, funded by an FCT national studentship (2022.09827.BD). Her thesis, "Exploitation of a scorpion-derived alkaloid for drug discovery," employs techniques from machine learning, synthetic chemistry, and chemical biology as a multidisciplinary approach to explore the potential of an unexplored scorpion-derived natural product in pharmaceutical applications.
