Ricardo Amorim obtained his Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Porto (UP) in 2011, followed by a Master's degree in Biochemistry, also from UP, in 2013. In recent years, Ricardo's research has primarily focused on mitochondrial biology of metabolic diseases, particularly non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), specifically identifying potential therapeutic interventions. His work has resulted in the publication of 16 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals and a book chapter, garnering over 272 citations and an h-index of 10. After completing his PhD in Biomedicine and Experimental Biology at the University of Coimbra, Ricardo decided to expand his research scope to incorporate metabolism with cancer. He is currently serving as a Junior Researcher at the Expression Regulation in Cancer (ERiC) group at i3S - Institute for Research and Innovation in Health, under the guidance of Dr. Carla Oliveira
