Cecilia Varotti is a marine biologist with a strong interest in the biology and ecology of benthic organisms, especially in the framework of the current climate changes and anthropic pressures. In July 2020 she graduated in Marine Biology at the Polytechnic University of Marche with a final grade of 110/110 cum laude (20/20 in the Portuguese grading system). She has a solid background knowledge on Earth and Environmental Sciences, gained during her Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences and Technologies at the University of Milano-Bicocca. She has experience in Habitat Suitability modelling and the biology and ecology of temperate Anthozoans, and has worked both in the laboratory and in the field, by means of scientific diving. During her studies, she has participated in conservation and dissemination projects, gaining experience in stakeholder engagement and awareness campaign planning.
