She has experience in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology, more specifically in biopolymers, peptides, enzymes, self-assembled systems, emulsions, functional materials, sensing, etc. IPM has extensive experience in R&D within both industrial and academic environments, developed at internships during her PhD (ASRC, CUNY and LOF, Solvay) as a member of a FP7 Marie Curie ITN named SMARTNET. She has then been engaged, as a postdoc researcher, on a highly innovative project (SCENT Hybrid Gels for Rapid Microbial Detection, ERC-StG-2014-639123) funded by the European Research Council. IPM is currently a junior researcher at Centre for Textile Science and Technology (2C2T), and also the Science manager of Fibrenamics - Institute of Innovation on Fibrous-based Materials and Composites. She is managing different collaborative projects with companies and research institutes, related with smart materials for different applications: POCI-01-0247-FEDER-049652 LH4Auto – Lighting and Heating System for Automotive; POCI-01-0247-FEDER-039869 4noPressure – Development of smart clothing to prevent the occurrence of pressure ulcers; POCI-01-0247-FEDER-070021 ProtechMask – New generation of active reusable masks for protection against biological agents; POCI-01-0247-FEDER-047012 PluriProtech – Development of clothing solutions for protection and active comfort. She has authored 10 articles, with 53 citations and a h-index of 4 (Scopus), and a patent application. She has given different communications at different international conferences (5 oral and 9 poster presentations). Doctor Inês P. Moreira has been involved in the organising and scientific committee of 5 international conferences and is a guest editor of a special issue. She was awarded with 2 travel grants during her PhD studies, with a best paper award at a conference and a seal of excellence for a project proposal submitted under the Horizon 2020’s Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions call H2020-IF-2018. IPM has lectured one class about Self-assembling Bio-inspired systems in the Chemical Biology course of Molecular Biosciences doctoral programme in ITQB, NOVA University of Lisbon and a AUT Winter School to Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic, Iran). In addition, she has been involved on the supervision of 3 MSc students and 3 BSc students.
