José C. B. da Silva completed the first degree in Física/Matemática Aplicada (Ramo de Astronomia) in 1990 at the Universidade do Porto Faculdade de Ciências, and a Master degree in Remote Sensing, Image Processing and Applications in 1992 at the University of Dundee (Scotland, U.K.).
