MMaria Alexandra Teodosio is an Associate Professor with Aggregation (marine sciences 2015) and PhD (biological oceanography 1996), both by University of Algarve (UAlg), Portugal, where she teaches for the last 30 year. She was co-coordinator of several study programmes, including bach, master and PhD programmes, and now she is Vice-Rector for Research and Internationalization of her university and she was during several years deputy director of the Centre of Marine Sciences of Algarve (CCMAR). She had experience in supervising students in marine biology, being involved in the supervision of 12 PhD candidates (6 already finished), 30 masters’ students, and over 40 undergraduates. She develops her research about estuarine ecology and Biological oceanography at (CCMAR), where she is the coordinator of the Ecoreach group. Her major interests include global change impacts on marine biodiversity, both anthropogenic and climatic driven, as acidification, non- indiginenous species, jellification and plastification of the ocean. She is the coordinator of the planktonic time series in South Iberia Lower Guadiana Station (IGMETS-ICES – NOOA). Recently she is coordinating several projects in the field of capacitation for marine science in African countries. She was a permanent external evaluator of the Research Foundation-Flanders (FWO) in the expert Panel Biodiversity and Ecology and of the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation, during several years. She has been involved in more than 30 European and national funded research projects. She is an Associate Editor of the Estuarine Coastal Shelf Science Journal and of the Diversity Journal. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed research articles, has a H-index of 28 (scopus) and she has contributed to seven book chapters and recently she co-edited one book in Zooplankton Ecology. She interacted within more than 270 researchers during her scientific activity.
