Carolina Videira holds a MSc in Molecular Genetics and Biomedicine by NOVA University of Lisbon. The Master's thesis, titled "Structural and functional studies of the drug metabolizing enzyme, aldehyde oxidase", was focused on Structural Biology (X-Ray crystallography) and Molecular Biology. The work was supervised by Prof. Cristiano Mota (Macromolecular Crystallography Lab, UCIBIO, Lisbon) and Prof. Irina Franco (Infection Biology Lab, UCIBIO, Lisbon). Carolina holds a BSc in Cell and Molecular Biology and during those years she did extracurricular internships and attended to lectures/courses to gain experience in different fields and techniques. She has presented her work in three national conferences. One of her biggest interests is the understanding of protein-protein interactions underlying cellular processes, namely during gene expression and metabolism.
