Géremi Dranka holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Systems (2021, University of Minho), MSc in Electrical Engineering (2014, UTFPR) and bachelor’s in electrical engineering (2012, UTFPR). He is currently a researcher at ALGORITMI Research Centre and Adjunct Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR). His research interests and expertise are in energy-related issues, including renewable energy, energy planning, and multidisciplinary approaches for energy sustainability, including economic and environmental dimensions. He has been co-supervising a PhD at University of Minho in the Doctoral Program in Industrial and Systems Engineering (DPISE) (since 2021). He has also supervised or co-supervised more than 10 undergraduate thesis in electrical engineering (9 concluded and 4 ongoing). During his PhD he was awarded (€ 2000) two years consecutively (2019 and 2020) by the doctoral program for publishing four papers in high-quality scientific journals. Together with his team, he has received the 1st place Nodal Award ($ 3000) in IMFAHE's Shark Tank competition promoted by the IMFAHE FOUNDATION (Boston, Massachusetts) in 2020. He is a reviewer of international scientific journals including Energy (Elsevier), Applied Energy, Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology, and IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy. He also supported the Local Support Committee of the 4th International Conference on Energy and Environment: bringing together Engineering and Economics (ICEE 2019).
