Eliane Gordeeff is an independent animator with a master’s degree in Art and Image (UFRJ - Brazil 2011) and Ph.D. in Fine Arts - Multimedia (FBAUL/CIEBA-Portugal 2018) with a scholarship from CNPq (Brazil) and Erasmus+ at University of Paris 8 (France). Associated member of ASIFA and contributor to zippyframes.com, she works with animation since 2000 and realized 17 productions that have been exhibited in many festivals around the world. In her productions, there is always a concern with the relation message-image. As a researcher, her interest is the animated image, in all its aspects, but especially symbolic. In researching for her master’s degree, she studied how the material can influence the narrative (which resulted in the book Aesthetic Interferences: The stop motion technique in the animation narrative, 2018). Her thesis "Representation of the Diegetic Imaginarium in Animation for the Cinema Life-Action” (2018) analyzed the Animation as art and medium with different visual and construction, that enhances the representation of the scene of dream, memory, fantasy and hallucination/psychedelia within the live-action movies - examining how the animated image can represent imaginary elements of the characters. Now she is researching about Animation and Neuroscience.
