Renato Mamede is a Ph.D. holder in Marine Biology from the University of Aveiro, specializing in the field of benthic habitat mapping and modeling. He successfully completed his Ph.D. in 2018. Currently, Renato serves as a Ph.D. Researcher at ECOMARE, CESAM (Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies), Department of Biology, University of Aveiro. Over the past five years, Renato has been actively involved in the fields of Marine Ecology and Biotechnology. He has contributed his expertise to six noteworthy projects, namely MeshAtlantic, AquaMMIn, SmartBioR, TraSeafood, MarCODE, and CITAQUA. Since May 2018, Renato has been dedicated to the field of traceability of economically important seafood species. His research aims to ensure food safety, maintain natural stocks, and promote the economic valorization of marine resources. Renato's expertise and hard work are evident in the co-authorship of 26 papers in ISI journals, with ten of them as the first author.
