Marta Filipa Viegas Barão

Marta Barão has a bachelor in Biochemistry (2017) and a Masters's in Cellular and Molecular Biology (2019) by the University of Coimbra. Currently, she is working as a research fellow in the Biomaterials and Stem Cell-Based Therapeutics Laboratory (Doctor Lino Ferreira’s group) at the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC). Her current research focuses is studying the therapeutic capabilities of extracellular vesicles and microRNA for tissue regeneration. In 2019, she initiated a collaboration with Doctor Ning Landén at the Karolinska Institute (Stockholm) to learn a new human ex-vivo wound model. For the future, she expects to apply and expand her knowledge in regenerative medicine.
