I obtained my Bachelor's in Biochemistry in 2021 at the University of Coimbra. During this period I did an internship inserted in the Curricular Unit "Project" at Coimbra Institute for Clinical and Biomedical Research in the project "Study of the radiobiological effects of Radium-223 in 3D culture models (spheroids) of prostate carcinoma" under the supervision of Inês Marques and Margarida Abrantes. I also have done two more voluntary internships, one in the Microbiology Laboratory at the University of Coimbra and the other one in Egianálises Lac in Guarda. In 2021, I enrolled in a Master's in Clinical Laboratory Genetics at the University of Coimbra. During my second year, I developed my master's thesis, where I performed the genetic analysis of patients with a diagnosis of Frontotemporal Dementia with mutations in GRN and C9ORF72, in the Neurogenetics Laboratory of CNC under the supervision of Maria do Rosário Almeida; and I also established induced-pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) from patient fibroblast lines obtained through skin biopsies punches and proceeded to characterize these generated iPSCs colonies and also generated brain organoids from the reprogrammed line carrying the GRN mutation, in the Neuronal Circuit and Behavior Laboratory of CNC under the supervision of Ana Luísa Cardoso and João Peça. At the moment, I have a 6-month fellowship, where I am going to differentiate iPSCs into skeletal muscle cells for 5 muscular diseases, in the Advanced Therapies Group, under the supervision of Susana Rosa and Lino Ferreira.
