Kateryna O. Shvydyuk has received an MSc in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Beira Interior (UBI). As an undergraduate, she enrolled in four voluntary national and international summer internships that covered a varied range of thematics (CEiiA, Portugal, 2017; CEiiA, Portugal, 2019; Omnidea-RTG, Germany, 2019; Deimos Engenharia, Portugal, 2020). She participated in complementary courses (ESA Academy) and competitions (ActInSpace Hackaton and Coimbra Space Summer School). She has published three full-length articles as a first author and is a co-author in another, resulting in a total of four scientific publications. She had two abstracts accepted into oral presentations (Materiais 2023 Guimarães, Portugal, and AJK Fluids Engineering Division Conference 2023, Osaka, Japan). She wrote two scientific posters. She is the winner of the First Honorable Mention in the Best Thesis Award 2023 competition within the field of Materials Science in Portugal. While finishing her master's and thereafter being a Visiting Researcher at the Centre for Aerospace Science and Technologies (C-MAST), she worked as a Systems Engineer for the aerospace and naval defense-related industries. Nowadays, she is a C-MAST researcher and a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Beira Interior.
