Sara Hummeid a Ph.D. candidate in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Therapeutics at the Faculty of Pharmacy, at the University of Lisbon. Sara completed her Integrated Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2019, at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Beira Interior (UBI). Sara started her research work at The Health Sciences Research Centre (CICS) at UBI in the fifth year of her degree. Sara collaborated on a project to develop new proteasome inhibitors for cancer therapy which was the subject of her master thesis. Throughout her research experience, Sara developed skills in medicinal and organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, stability studies, cell-based assays, and enzymatic assays. Furthermore, Sara has had an internship in 2018 at St Bartholomew's Hospital - Barts Health NHS Trust, London, UK.
