José Joaquim da Mota Machado Machado graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Universidade do Porto in 2013. He also earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidade do Porto in 2019. In 2020, he became an Assistant Professor (Professor Auxiliar) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering (DEMec) of the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP) section of Industrial Design. He mainly teaches Mechanical Engineering Drawing, Technical Drawing, and Design and Manufacturing. José Machado is a co-author of more than 60 articles in international journals and conferences. Additionally, he has been (co-)supervisor of several MSc theses. He was a Post-doctoral at the Tokyo Institute of Technology between 2019 and 2020, working in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) to develop new materials and in mechanical projects to develop new testing machines. His main research areas include Laser Microtexturization, Adhesive Bonding Technologies, Product Development, Image Processing, and Deep Learning.
