Ana Carolina Costa got her Bachelor's degree in Applied Chemistry from the NOVA School of Science and Technology in 2019. After her Bachelor's degree, she obtained her Master's degree in Biotechnology at NOVA School of Science and Technology in 2022. During her Master's thesis, she developed spent coffee ground extracts rich in antioxidant phenolic compounds using Natural Deep Eutectic Systems (NADES). Which were incorporated directly in novel and sustainable topical formulations, also developed by her, and with the collaboration of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon (FFUL). As a result, she presented a poster in the iMed.Ulisboa Meeting 2022, and made an oral presentation at Sunset Skin Summit 2022 - 2nd edition, about her thesis work. Currently, she is doing research in Biotechnology, in a secondment between DES.Solutio Lda. (Portugal), and University of Camerino (Italy). She is acquiring expertise on working with polymer chemistry, fluorous chemistry, nanoparticle, and hydrogel formulation.
