Bruna Silva

Bruna Silva holds a bachelor's degree in applied biology (2019) and a master's degree in molecular biology, biotechnology, and bioentrepreneurship in plants (2022) from the University of Minho. Her research expertise lies in in vitro approaches, including biochemistry and cell culture, to evaluate the bioactivities of plant extracts and their correlation with chemical composition. She has developed strong skills in HPLC analysis, cell viability assays, and ELISA techniques. Following her MSc, she worked as a research fellow (2022–2023), assessing the bioactivities and toxicological effects of dietary supplements. Currently, she is a PhD student in Molecular and Environmental Biology at the University of Minho, funded by an FCT PhD grant within the Smart4Vir—"Smart surfactant-based nanovectors for RNA anti-viral therapeutics" (2022.05543.PTDC). Her research, in collaboration with the University of Porto, focuses on innovative strategies to combat non-respiratory viruses, integrating colloidal chemistry and molecular biology. Bruna has authored two scientific publications and has presented her work at international and national conferences through oral and poster communications. She has also contributed to the supervision of undergraduate students and the organization of scientific events.
