Gianluca Ferrittu is a Doctoral Researcher at the Lisbon School of Economics and Management (University of Lisbon), and he holds a Master's Degree from the University of Pavia in Economics, Politics and International Institutions. He earned a Foundation for Science and Technology studentship grant for conducting his doctoral research project on: "Child labor in Europe: a historical, comparative and empirical approach (1945-1990)" (2020-2023). His research interests lay particularly on labour markets and public policy, with a focus on child labour and decent work. From December 2019 to September 2020, he has worked in the research unit of the Italian mission of the United Nations Migration Agency (IOM). Previously, in 2019, he has been hosted in the international research project "Public Policies and Child Labour in Portugal and Portuguese colonies" at the Centre for Public Administration and Public Policies (ISCSP), where he worked as Research Assistant. In 2018, he earned a Giovanni Manera Fellowship in economics and statistics (awarded by the University of Pavia), and he has been hosted in Yangon (Myanmar) at the Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business, where he developed the fieldwork for his research master's thesis and has been involved in different ongoing projects on responsible business in Myanmar. Moreover, from 2016 to 2018, he worked at the European Institute for Socioeconomic Development (Ass. ISES) as Junior Project Manager, conducting desk research on socioeconomic topics.
