I am a junior researcher at the Applied Molecular Biosciences (UCIBIO) research unit within the Faculty of Science and Technology, NOVA University of Lisbon (NOVA FCT), Portugal. In 2012 I started my academic journey at NOVA FCT, I graduated in Biochemistry in 2015 and I completed my master’s degree in Biotechnology in 2017. From 2019 to 2023 I did my PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering also at NOVA FCT. My research interests have been focused on wastes valorisation, organic acids production, biopolymer production and characterization not only at lab scale but also at pilot scale. During the last few years, I have been dedicated of understanding the use of advanced monitoring tools towards the real-time monitoring and control of biological systems, such as biopolymers (polyhydroxyalkanoates) production. I am the co-author of 7 peer-reviewed papers, 4 as first author, with a total of 98 citations and an h-index of 5. Throughout my scientific career, I have also presented my research at international and national conferences and I have been a team member of several research projects, including European and National projects, where I had the opportunity to collaborate with other researchers, institutions and also industries. Currently, I am a team member in the European Project UPSTREAM.
