I hold a PhD in Biotechnology and Biosciences from Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon (2023). Currently, I am a Researcher at MEtRICs (Centro de Engenharia Mecânica e Sustentabilidade de Recursos) at NOVA FCT, where I am working on the PRR Project "PRODUCTECH R3". Specifically, my work focus on the production of nanocellulose from lignocellulosic wastes, though greener solutions. I have published 16 papers, 12 as first author, in refereed international journals. My expertise lies in the physiology and dynamics of yeast and microalgae, both in pure and mixed cultures, with applications ranging from bioproduct production to industrial effluent treatment. Additionally, I specialized in utilizing flow cytometry for monitoring microalgae and yeast cultivations.
