Researcher in the field of Computational Mechanics with applications to Civil Engineering and Fire Safety. In 2026 have published more than 200 scientific manuscripts, of which more than 80 are in international journals. I have been advisor/co-advisor of 12 PhD Students in the field of Structural Mechanics. PhD in the field of Computational Mechanics applied to Civil Engineering, using damage mechanics to simulate the dynamic non linear behaviour of concrete structures. Postdoc research in composite structures with orthotropic damage mechanics; dynamic impact/penetration analysis; thermal-structural numerical simulation of structures; the use of FRP for strengthening RC structures; analysis of fire loads and fire protection techniques; applying higher-order beam theories (Carrera Unified Formulation), to study the behaviour of composite sandwich panels; protection of dwellings against wildland fires using thermal-mechanical non-linear models. External consultancy for the structural assessment of existing structures using computational mechanics in LNEC.
